Mini Creations ABS Classic Mini Products
I remembered a few days ago reading about the ABS door cards for Classic Mini in one of the magazines.
With my current penchant for creating “things” in fibreglass I thought I would go have another look.
Mini Creations seem to be, just like you and me, Mini fanatics. Unlike me they also seem to have some mad creation skillz that they are putting to good use.
The first product they have on offer is a direct replacement door card made from ABS. Available in smooth or textured finish it has the facility to mount component speakers in the doors. A huge bonus if you don’t want the hassle of fitting either a custom kick or under-dash build (like I am doing).
I’m not so sure about the bright red version although I am 100% certain that they could create any colour you want (within reason!) or you could flat it back and paint it yourself. This one has a 16.5cm speaker mounted in it. The black bits are carbon fibre.
If I were to create this then I would be tempted to flat off the top of the bottom oval (does that make sense?), extend the bottom and sides and turn it into a pocket.
Unfortunately there are no prices on the website at the moment. The home page of the site says “launching in February 2008″. Well, I suppose there’s a couple of weeks of February left… I will be interested to see pricing and delivery time information. Also, what they look like attached to the car door!
Creating a custom door card is on my project list for playing with fibreglass. I’ll let you know if/when I ever get round to it!
