Future Of The Mini Blog
Whilst mucking about with fibreglass this afternoon I was thinking about the blog. See, men can multi-task!
Anyway, I was thinking about how to improve the blog. I had a few ideas which I would like some feedback on:
1. Turn the blog into more of a magazine with separate “departments” for specifics. Things like New MINI, Classic Mini, ICE, Mechanical etc. It would use a theme, something like this one (link to example).
2. Ask for other people to contribute as well as me. It’s all well and good me talking about what I am doing for MY car, but that wasn’t the original intention. It was going to be more about what’s happening in the Mini and MINI worlds. Are you interested in writing? I can offer nothing except kudos, it will cost you nothing except time. Ideally I would like someone that can write about the new MINI as my exposure and experience with them is very limited, but any contributor that can give regularly (as little as once or twice a week) with good Mini/MINI related content will be awesome.
3. The third option is that I stop with this blog and just integrate my Mini talk into my main blog. I don’t really want to do this as I like keeping it separate.
So, any thoughts? Come on, I know I have at two readers!
Also, I still need a domain name, so any ideas would be much appreciated!

I used to read this blog when it was over at wordpress.com via my reader but during the server move the feed broke at some point and I forgot to fix it so surfed over here today to find it fixed so I have re-subscribed.
I think you should keep it separate personally. Might be worth getting a domain name for it then start targeting the search engines with mini related key words? That would boost readership and possibly allow some willing mini fans to come along here and write some material.
Might be worth posting this in the links section of The Mini Forum as well.
Cheers

Hey ya buddy, yeah I think it would be a great idea.
I’de be well up for contributing too. I’m still learning and rely allot on forums and blogs to solve problems so I’de love the chance to give something back/pass nuggets of wisdom on.
I’m quite hot on graphic design and photography but at the moment i’m pretty rusty on webdesign. I’ve never really given it a good go.
any way, thumbs up from me.

Guys - thanks for the comments!
Ad - I will be keeping it separate. The domain name, I am looking for ideas, if you have any then please let me know!
Sam - Thanks for the support! I will try and email you and get some more info from you if that’s ok? Web Design isn’t a problem for me, it’s the graphic design I have issues with, so anything you can throw into the pot will be much appreciated.
Mulling it over while playing with more fibreglass this afternoon, I have decided that a magazine style would work quite well. I am going to investigate and see what happens!

Any thoughts very much welcomed!

Like it! I liked the way your “network” of blogs share the same theme, it’s a cool idea but I think this is better off with something different.
Good luck with the re branding :)
