It never ceases to amaze me how little the US residents pay for gas. That’s unleaded or petrol to you and me on this side of the pond!

We pay what, ninety three, ninety four pence a litre? That’s $1.89US (according to Reuters). Scott posted (a couple of months ago) that he paid, well…

The fun part was that they had the premium fuel priced at the normal price for regular unleaded. As I was wondering if this would be my first $3+ fill up this year I was pleasantly surprised to get a tankful of premium for only $2.79. Only, yea right! Since when was gas for $2.79 something to brag about. Like the title of this post says… relatively cheap.

Yes, he says he paid TWO DOLLARS SEVENTY NINE CENTS for a tank of fuel. That means he paid £1.37 Sterling for his tank of gas. Work it out, that would get me 1.476 litres of fuel. To fill the tank in my Classic Mini costs me around £20 sterling or $40.60 US! It costs twice that to fill the tank in my MG ZS…

Relatively cheap??? Just occasionally I want to move to America. Then I remember the laws on importing Classic Minis and think better of it.

Conversion rate at the time of writing is 2.0303 USD to £1 Sterling.
