Happy Birthday MINI!
07/07/07 - what a cool date and MINI2 mentions that six years ago today the MINI was released for sale in Great Britain. So Happy Birthday!
Whilst on the subject, I heard a rumour the other day that the MINI factory in Cowley is closed for July and August so they can re-tool for the new Clubman, due out in the not too distant future. This will be the first variant on the MINI, excluding the Cooper range.
I’m not sure I like it, but it’s certainly different:

Where’s the slab front? This was the most distinguishing feature of the original Mini Clubman (look at the blog header for the original) and MINI seem to be using the name to trade off the original but suggest that the car is an estate instead. At least it has reasonable boot space!
What do you think?

I think it’s really cool and I would love to own one.
